There remains 109 senator in the red chambers of the Nigerian National assembly and the populace are already clamoring for a scrap of the wing with a view that its sheer waste of public funds.

Few days ago, information in circulation by telecommunication subscribers suggested that there will be an increase in data subscription tarrifs which is slated to take effect from the 1st of December, 2016 and the public has been fuming over this due to the hardship the economic recession in the country has imposed on the lives of Nigerians and with the cost of living tripling in percentages and inflation in double digits- this increment is a no go area.

As usual the tweet from senator Ben Bruce caught the attention of the social media community again. (See bellow)


People however seem to be tired of the perceived to be all-talking-and-no-action senator as the tweet generates further criticisms. Two tweeps were actually vocal against the senator, Pretty Billionaire( @FireOFola) and George Atah ( @abillidollz)


Senator Ben Bruce has a huge followership on and he seems to be more active on social media than twitter if his tweets are anything to go by.

However, the Minister of communications, Mr Adebayo Shittu disclosed  on a programme Wednesday 30/11/2016, on RaypowerFM that the federal Government never gave any directive to telecommunications operators to increase prices of data in whatever capacity.

The senate has also responded through a resolution to halt any move to increase data tarrif.
